Little Big Town at Bottleneck Blues Bar St. Louis

My wife and I got to catch our favorite band, Little Big Town, here in St. Louis at the Bottleneck Blues Bar. I had three things I wanted to accomplish. First, I wanted to take my camera. I’m lucky I have a Canon 50mm 1.4 that, from outside appearances, is pretty unassuming. I’m always worried I won’t be allowed into certain concerts with my Canon 40D. Luckily it has yet to be an issue.

Second, I wanted to get a picture I had developed into an 11×14 of Little Big Town and my wife and I from our Kenny Chesney Cruise back in 2006. They were gracious enough to meet fans after their ship concert and we got our picture taken with them. I wanted, now last night, to have each one of them sign it.

Lastly, I wanted to enjoy the concert. Most people think I’m not when I’m shooting pictures – and I totally understand that reasoning. But I do mulit-task and nothing makes me happier than enjoying a good concert AND taking pictures. I don’t get to do it often, so when I do, I want to make the memories last.

We sat three rows from the front, stage left. It was awesome, especially in a 200+ seat venue. My 50mm had plenty of reach, and had plenty of speed to shoot in the low light situation. I still want to learn more about concert photography, as I’m completely new to it, but I learned quite a bit experimenting last night. These beginner generic viagra online exercises are not strenuous and can be cured easily. This means that customers who are computer literate and have access to a computer can purchase generic sildenafil uk these medicines. Once these muscles relax it allows them to soft cialis go back and return to their normal daily activities. I shot manual the entire time. I started at ISO 800 and then moved up to 1600. I’ve got quite a bit of noise from the high ISO, and I’m almost wondering if I could have stepped down a bit off of 1600. A lot of my pics were still a bit overexposed in the face area. I also shot spot metering and alternated between AI Servo and Multi Shot.

Here’s one that turned out pretty good of Kimberly – who I actually got to meet after the concert for a few minutes. We talked a bit and I had her sign my picture before asking her why they didn’t play my favorite song, “Stay.” She mentioned having to play a shorter set than normal because of house rules, but I told her they need to make sure to get that into their set no matter what!

My favorite picture of Kimberly I’ve taken is still from their Cape Girardeau show here. I pretty much had either Kimberly or Phillip to shoot the whole night. Karen and husband Jimi were on the far end of stage and came over a couple times toward the end but by then, my memory card was full. ACK! I was frantically trying to go through them and delete to make some room. 300+ RAW images on a 4 gig card. Not bad. Here’s Phillip:

The best I could do in getting most of the band in one shot is this one. Maybe with a wider angle lends I could have pulled off a better shot.

Looking through the pictures, I’m starting to feel guilty about not getting many of poor old Jimi. He’ll have to work on moving around on stage a bit more. Here’s about the only one that came out at all of him…and looking at me with his sultry eyes 🙂
