Lindenwood Synchronized Swim Team Practice

Posted by on Dec 2, 2015 in Sports | No Comments

A little over a month ago, I had the opportunity to test out a new lens from Canon for a week, the 400mm 2.8. I tried to take advantage of various shooting opportunities for those few days (see our Instagram feed @LuxePhotoSTL for more behind-the-scenes photos and a video, and while you’re at it find us on Twitter by the same name!), but I wanted to really put that mega lens to the test. I put out some inquiries and one of those was the Lindenwood Synchronized Swim team (2013 National Champs) who I had met a few of their swimmers as they were a big volunteer group at the last Mo’Cowbell Race here in St. Charles. I got to join them one morning as they practiced some of their throws and routine. I’ve never shot synchro swimming before so it was a good test for my entire lens arsenal and a great experience shooting a new sport! The girls were fantastic and I really appreciate the access behind the scenes. Below are some of my favorite shots using the 400mm, 70-200 and 24-70 lenses.

As always, please feel free to share the link here to view the images but if you do use any of my images elsewhere for personal use, please attribute it back to Luxe Photography and I would appreciate if you don’t change the look of the photos or apply various filters. Thank you!
